Outside Parliament, the standoff at Jantar Mantar escalated further. Riot control units fired teargas near Patel Chowk after CJP protesters reportedly ran amok during the march.
The move marks a sharp escalation from the lathi-charge reported earlier in the day, and comes as security forces continue to enforce prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the BNSS across central Delhi.
With Rajya Sabha adjourned until Tuesday morning and CJP’s protest showing no signs of winding down, both fronts of Monday’s confrontation are likely to carry into the second day of the session.
Whether the government responds to Kharge’s demand for accountability on the NEET leak, and whether the situation outside Parliament de-escalates overnight, will shape how Tuesday’s proceedings begin.
