Mumbai Police registered a formal criminal case against three unidentified attackers on Monday morning. The police action followed a brazen shooting targeting Bollywood action star Tiger Shroff in suburban Juhu. Investigators invoked attempt-to-murder charges under Section 109(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) alongside strict provisions of the Arms Act.

The First Information Report (FIR) was lodged at the Juhu police station following detailed statements from eyewitnesses. According to official crime reports published by The Indian Express, the actor escaped the ambush without physical injury. However, two persons travelling with him, including his personal driver, sustained shrapnel wounds. Therefore, law enforcement agencies launched an intensive search operation across western suburban corridors.

Seven Rounds Fired at Actor’s Vehicle in Juhu

The terrifying attack occurred around 7:30 pm on Sunday outside a local sports facility. The actor was leaving a neighborhood football club in his luxury BMW sedan. Suddenly, three motorcycle-borne assailants intercepted the vehicle near an intersection.

The gunmen fired at least seven live rounds directly at the car windows and windshield. As detailed by India Today, shattered safety glass injured the driver’s arms and face. Despite his injuries, the driver accelerated away from the ambush, saving the passengers from direct hits. Consequently, the shooters sped away into the evening traffic toward the Western Express Highway.

Crime Branch Deploys Fifteen Teams to Track Bike-Borne Gunmen

The Mumbai Crime Branch took over the primary investigation on Monday morning to coordinate regional tracking. Police leadership constituted 15 dedicated operational squads to hunt down the assailants.

Forensic scientists examined the vehicle and recovered multiple empty bullet casings from the asphalt road. Furthermore, coverage by The Hindu confirmed that cyber units are analyzing street CCTV feeds from Juhu and Bandra. Detectives also questioned local eyewitnesses and detained one person of interest for preliminary questioning. As a result, police checkpoints intensified across key city toll gates and transport hubs.

Intelligence agencies are scrutinizing viral social media posts claiming responsibility for the daylight shooting. Unverified claims linked the attack to associates of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi criminal gang.

Investigators are verifying whether organized extortion syndicates orchestrated the attack to intimidate the film industry. Meanwhile, state political leaders issued stern warnings against organized crime syndicates. As highlighted by The Times of India, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis condemned the attack as an act of cowardice. On the other hand, Mumbai Police assigned armed protection personnel to the actor’s residence. The daring ambush has triggered renewed concerns regarding celebrity safety across the entertainment capital.
