Detailed Digital Scorecards Handed Out After Cabinet Meet
Officials handed each minister a confidential envelope immediately following the cabinet session. The envelope contained an audit of their digital performance from May 1 to August 15. The assessment evaluated metrics across four major platforms: X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
The review analyzed average daily post frequency, engagement per post, total likes, audience follower demographics, and overall traction. It also compared their numbers to other prominent political figures, including opposition leaders.
Strategic Push to Connect with Emerging Youth Demographics
The performance review forms part of a broader political strategy by the ruling administration to build direct communication channels with Gen Z and Gen Alpha. Furthermore, party strategists emphasized that youngsters who are currently 14 to 18 years old will become eligible first-time voters in the next general elections.
Leaders advised ministers to avoid bureaucratic jargon and use modern digital formats, such as short reels and interactive live sessions. These tools should be used to explain central welfare policies, education reforms, and national development milestones.
‘One Day, One University’ Campus Outreach Rollout
Alongside the online evaluation, the government has finalized a major grassroots campaign titled ‘One Day, One University’ to complement its digital push. Under this initiative, one Union Minister will visit a university or higher educational institution every day. The goal is to engage in open dialogues with students.
Education Minister Pralhad Joshi and Youth Affairs Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will coordinate the nationwide campus visits. They will gather firsthand youth feedback on key national policies.
