Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief and former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal was targeted in an attack near Takht Sri Hazur Sahib in Nanded, Maharashtra.

An unidentified assailant, reportedly disguised as a Nihang Sikh, attempted to stab Badal in the stomach with a kirpan (edged weapon) inside/near the gurdwara premises. Badal sustained hand injuries while shielding himself during the assault and was immediately rushed to a local hospital for treatment.
